It may also help to treat chronic and other conditions; here are just a few examples:
Cancer related Chemotherapy Treatments – The stomach, intestine and colon points on the foot can be stimulated to help with nausea. This has been known to help reduce nausea and vomiting by up to 80%.
Abdominal Surgery – This surgery can be very painful and understandably no massage can be given on the stomach area following surgery. It enables you to grow in awareness of how it feels to be in balance as apposed to out of balance. Combined with meditation, exercise and getting out in nature, it can be a powerful pain and stress reducer for you as well as an energy enhancer.
Overall Health Maintenance – Just keeping up your health and well-being requires a lot of time and effort, so Reflexology is an easy one stop shop for doing that. It can be used for so many circumstances or change of life situations such as: after a relationship breakup, following a pregnancy, a job transfer, looking after someone’s estate, becoming a single parent, going back to school, long hours at work, getting over a trauma, etc.
Reflexology helps to bring you renewed energy and balance that you can feel not only in your body but also in your soul. It can be the one thing we can do for ourselves to keep us going in a world that seems so out of hand.
Basically what it does is it uses the points of the feet (or hands) to connect with, like a telephone line, a completely different area of the body. Imagine that the tip and side of your thumb is hooked up to your head and therefore when you stimulate it, it reduces your headache! Or you press on a point underneath your foot and it stimulates your liver to get it working more effectively. Reflexology or Trigger Points stimulate and replenish areas of weakness, while unblocking over-taxed areas of tension and/or accumulation for better flow and circulation to the organs, muscles, and other cells of the body.
what does a REFLEXOLOGY session look like?
To begin with, you’ll relax in a chair and soak in an epson salt and essential oils foot bath. Soaking in this for about 10 to 15 minutes will begin to stimulate the area and allow for a moment of relaxation and indulgence.
Next you will move to the massage table with your body completely laid out comfy and cozy under a blanket with or without a heating pad under your back or over your stomach area. There will be a pillow under your head and a special eye cover placed over your eyes for full serenity. This eye cover is a very special healing tool in itself as it is filled with over 100 different liquid crystals and essential oils for maximum de-stressing, healing and relaxation. A large pillow will be placed under your knees and a smaller one under your feet. The practitioner will sit at the foot of the bed and begin the Reflexology by giving a wonderful foot massage to begin with using special essential oils peppermint and plum foot lotion. Then Reflexology techniques will include pressing, holding, tracing, tapping, tracking, twisting, and other stimulation techniques. Lay back, relax and enjoy!
